Week 13 Day 1

Since exams are coming near, today Mr Rick reviewed us about Female Suffrage .

He reviewed about lower order thinking skills and higher order thinking skills. Lower order thinking skills are usually like list and state(like level 0 questions). Higher order thinking skills are analysing, evaluating and creating(level 1 questions).

He also talk about how we should determine how much time we should spend on a question. We should multiply the points with 2 and subtract it with 2.

we should identify the command word before we do a question. describe question needs 3 paragraph (opening, argument, source support argument)

Then he told us to practice answering describe questions with our group. He told us to describe the motives that parliament might have had to over throw the king. We need to answer it the way he teaches us to. We need to make a mind map of 6 different ideas.
We didn't finished it so he told us to keep it and continue it tomorrow.

Week 12 Day 1 and 2

We finish the Poster, which is an application of what we are doing for the essay and the Inquiry Wheel. It should be a 3D poster, and it should look really nice. Then we will take a picture of it and submit on Saturday.

(This is past, forgot to update blog.)

Week 11 Day 2

This day, Mr. Rick did not come to school, so Mr. Mak who substitute us tells us to finish the essay. For the whole lesson, seems like no one did it...

Week 11 Day 1

Welcome back from the one week of the term break! There is an essay assignment that we have to submit by Saturday midnight, so Mr. Rick is going to teach us on how to make it.

Our essay format is called MLA, and we need to be able to format everything correctly. If not, Mr. Rick is going to give us a 0 if we don't follow instructions. Every MLA formatting rule can be found here, and it's simple on how to edit it... Just needs to change the margins and also the line spacing. You can look up the tutorial in the internet...

The important thing you also need to have is that your essay must be an argumentative essay, not a report. An argumentative essay is an essay that will support your thesis, what you are talking about. And it needs to be about 1500 words long. That's kind of long... about 5 pages. Well... a good thing we have a lot of time to do it!

Also for your essay, you need to cite your sources. You need to have at least 5 sources or else it's not valid because you don't research in a lot of places. There is a special way to cite sources, so look it up in the internet.

Well, so there's the essay. Do well on it.

Then we have to finish the whole 6 sections of the inquiry wheel with our group and make an essay. We need to finish it during the term break holiday.

For this time there is little work on the actual history on the textbook, but he next term we'll have something more educational.

We did the interview for the section two of the inquiry wheel, and we just need to organize a little more and do more research, and soon we will be done with the section two.
